Emelie Patten
My name is Emelie Taylor Patten, and I have been drawing since I could pick up a crayon. At age 4, my talent was recognized by my mother’s childhood friend and prominent artist, Dean Cole who gave me my first step-by-step drawing book featuring dinosaurs. His unique, realistic take on creature concepts and prehistoric life through his drawings became a huge inspiration to me as I grew into a more skilled artist. His initial support and intrigue with me, along with my grandmother’s mythical stories about fairies and woodland residents opened my mind to an artistic world of my own. Mostly self-taught, my specialty is fantasy realism. I have a fascination with architecture, specifically cathedrals and castles, as well as trees and nature. I have also continued to endure a strong will to portray human expression and anatomy accurately within my artwork. I am very excited to share my art with the world for the first time. I have always held a true passion for art of all kinds and for creating worlds of my own imagination. Whether it’s a little dark or vibrant with color, my goal is to reach the hearts and minds of others through my creations to inspire love, creativity, consciousness and beauty within.
